I saw the vast number of jordan pictures that were in my USB memory stick so i decided to make it about jordans. i'm puttin it on my Face book page and on Youtube i will probably have the link on here within the next hour.

The game of basketball calls though (well that and my girlfriend Shushan) so i will be back here later to give some back info about how the WSB-TV interview went and why i even have this camera

Visual thought of the moment: Today while helpin a old lady in my neighborhood fix her television i noticed her cat on the table, it then look at me in the eyes and proceeded to Puke all over it self. Must be Kobe Again

"Don't bring that shit in my house" those were the words of Wilson Chandler after blocking the shot of Kobe Bryant late in the first quarter well you know what Kobe brought it to his house; again and again and again to the tune of 61 points.

Kobe poetic scoring outburst seems just as a beacon to the rest of the league that yes I am still the best and yes I can score any time i want to. From the start of the game it just felt like one of those special scoring nights; With Kobe taking and making 2 three' in quarter number one.

Kobe's performance though was just a little perfume on the skunk; the big 7' 280 pound skunk who tonight was not playing due to a injured knee and more than likely wont be playing until mid- April. That was some mighty powerful perfume is something that my grandma would say and she would be right Kobe doing what he did at MSG is something can do and even fewer have done.

Lakers coach Phil Jackson has seen the top two performances with the best seat in the house he coached Jordan when he went off for 55 and said of Kobe's output "amazing just an amazing performance"

The fact that Kobe played so well kind of doesn’t bode well for my school day I have a friend (Greg) who is as much of a fan of Kobe Bryant as any a man could be of another man without appearing "homo" so he will talk about this one till we are both blue in the face, but the beauty is so will many more sports fans around the world. That’s just how great Kobe is he inspires the Gregs of the world to kneel down and kiss their Kobe collages.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://asseenthruglass.blogspot.com/2009/02/61-must-be-kobe-again.html' title='61... There will be a million articles written about this game I just hope to capture the emotion of the game as it happens and the great commercials. I don’t really care who wins but I just get the feeling Pittsburg is going to win a close one

Determination that’s what I see in the eyes of Steelers quarter back Ben Rothlisberger as they flash to him during the excellent anthem by Jennifer Hudson.

The first pass he threw was a 33 yards completion to Hines ward longer than any of his completions in super bowl XL.

Overturned Ben Rothlisberger initially ruled touchdown run this could be big it’s the difference between 7 points and 3 points.

How fitting that the first super bowl commercial be one from Budweiser it was alright I don’t know I may just not be to keen on throwing people out of a window the better one so far is the Doritos spot with the magic crystal bowl.

9:12 left in the first

Arizona’s first play is a run that was smart they are going to need to get edge off early in order to have a chance to win that was close edge fumbled but they got the ball back.

7:34

The introductions to me are really dumb sometimes; its one thing to shout out your high school but Larry Foote of the Steelers gave a shout out to the dope boys of his hood. did Ryan Clark just say swaggin that has to be the time that has ever been uttered on NBC

4:30 left in the first

What play can Ben make on third and ten I tell you what kind a great one using his scrambling ability to make a completion to heath miller but is it me or is the term superman used much too often.

The first quarter lived up to what you expect from a first quarter in the biggest game of any players life a lot of feeling each other out but Pitt is doing a lot more feeling the score is 3-0 but Rothlisberger is in the red zone

This should be a super bowl rule all commercials must have monkeys

The Arizona defense is bending over backwards right now they are making the pretty good Pitt offense look great

13:54 in the second

The cardinals run their 6th play of the game it looks like they are trying to get the ball to everybody but their 2 pro bowl wide outs.

10:14 left the second

Steve breaston might set the super bowl receptions record that’s his fourth catch

Finally Anquan boldin catches a pass 45 yarder

5:34 in the second

The one consistent so far is that Dominique R C came to play he has made two big plays so far he has to be the fastest player on the field

Its ok to hit a player on the butt after a big play but come on Neil Rackers did you really have to squeeze like that

2:59 left in the second

Larry still has yet to get one throw his way its 3rd and 22 this seems like as good a time as any to get it to him; nope the cards choose to dump it off to Edge James and he drops it

Karlos Dansby makes what I call a clumsy interception off a tipped pass from Rothlisberger the two minute warning.

It is crazy how stoic head coaches are during the super bowl I would be jumping up and down on every first down. It seems like this game is going by really fast its almost half time and I’m not even done with my sandwich

Fitzgerald just made his first catch nothing spectacular but a good confidence completion

: 18 left in first half

I wonder what Bruce Springsteen is going to do I hope he does glory days holy shit! Harrison just did his best Ed Reed impression showing why he is the defensive player of the year by taking an interception 100 yards turning what should have been an Arizona lead or tie into 10 point Pittsburg lead

It’s half time
Why is Matt Millen an analyst he obviously know nothing about how to run a football team but we are supposed to listen to him break down a game.

I wonder what would happen if Bruce Springsteen’s nipple popped out would they delay it and not show or would the network just play it off. It seems like everybody who went to the super bowl Is a Springsteen fan. i didn’t know they would allow you into the super bowl post 9/11 with pocket lighters. That was a great half time show I just had my homeboy a 16 year old inner city gang banger call me and he said all he could say is great Bruce Springsteen is. I didn’t know Traylon listen to anything but lil Wayne but now he is an E street band fan. now that is transcending genre. The boss!!!

Start of the second half

Adjustments are going to be key can the cards run the ball? Can big ben win the game with his arm is Neil Rackers gay these questions and more will be answered in the second half.

If Pitt scores here they might have to start engraving Pittsburg on the Lombardi trophy Hines Ward makes another big play but these referees are calling this game much to tight

6:34 in the 3rd

Steelers are on the zona 20 Willie Parker makes the first big Steeler run, before that 14 yard skat he was only averaging 2.4yards per play.

Wow what a bone head play Adrian Wilson the leader of the cards defense just got the third personal foul call of the drive luckily the defense held up for a second time inside the 10 yard line.

1:04 left in the 3rd

Larry Fitzgerald only has one reception and Kurt Warner has only taken one shot down field Vegas should have had a gimmick bet for how many times Kurt Warner goes deep by the start of the 4th I guarantee nobody would have picked once

This is the start of the fourth this is were champions rise to occasion I just get the feeling Larry Fitzgerald is about to do something unbelievable

The Steelers are starting to do what they do when winding the game down and just as I say that Darnell Docket gets a sack and the Steelers are forced to punt

9:00

The cardinal finally showing a sense of urgency by running the no huddle and getting the ball to Larry Fitzgerald consistently I hate when teams try to play a different brand of football than what got them to the super bowl in the first place the cardinal are driving because they are passing the ball around the yard.

7:46

3rd and goal and who else but Larry Fitzgerald to make the jump ball catch that is his sixth of this postseason

Nice sack for Darnell Docket

Quick note: why the hell is it that every time madden calls some ones name they make the very next play as soon as they say DRC he breaks a ball up they say Fitzgerald he make 3 catches and a TD Darnell docket says madden SACK

What the heck you can’t call a unnecessary roughness in the fourth quarter of the super bowl the only yellow flags flying now should be the terrible towels we might just have to call this one the penalty bowl did Al Michaels just say swaggin?

3:42

Another Arizona penalty

1st and twenty dang almost intercepted good coverage by troy polomalu

2nd and twenty almost picked this time by Tyrone Carter

3rd and twenty incomplete pass great blitz call by dick lebeau

Who ever Francisco is for the cardinals he just got punked by James Harrison

This is nerve wrecking Pitt has the ball in their own end zone and they make a wonderful play Ben Rothlisberger to santonio Holmes for what could have secured a SB victory and they get a holding call in the end zone which means safety

Its time for Kurt Warner to channel his inner Tom Brady

2:45 left in the game Larry Fitzgerald make a 9 yard catch and turns it into a 65 yard touch down play I knew it I knew Larry Fitzgerald was not going out like a punk playmakers make plays and that’s what he just did.

They just went to a shot of his dad Larry Fitzgerald sr who is a writer for a Minneapolis newspaper there is a rule no cheering in the press box I don’t see how he can contain himself.

Looks like Rothlisberger is going to get sacked no he escapes and completes a pass
1:56

Ben checks at the line and finds a nice seem to Santonio

1:09

Ben Tebow runs but stays in bounds so they are forced to burn a time out

The wind just started blowing

I am going to make prediction I think this one is going to overtime

: 49

On the zona 8 yard line

The first play is a jumper to san holmes

The second play is the same play to the other side and a touchdown! That was a great catch

I am going to go out on a limb and saw this is the greatest super bowl I have ever seen i have seen about 7 of them live at least

Yes the touchdown stands santonio Holmes should be the MVP if Pitt goes on to win this one

: 29 Fitzgerald makes a good catch zona time out

: 22 jj Arrington in the middle 15 yard gain

: 15 Warner tried to scramble and losses a fumble

0:00 The Steelers just took the knee and this one is over. That game was one for the ages; coming into this game I didn’t have a team I wanted to win I just wanted to see a great game for any fan with out a rooting interest this was the game you want to see a fourth quarter see saw, big time players making the big plays and 60 minutes of what can only be described as a super game

The penalty bowl concludes….

Hello, is any one in there? A question to the pulse of the Atlanta Hawks

26 points in a half that are both disappointing and unacceptable; the hawks since the start of 2009 are a lousy 4-9 and shell of the hawks team that seemed to be on its way to a 50 win season. Joe Johnson has been how I say this nicely not him self averaging only 16 points a game in January. A number that should have drastically improved seeing that both Al Horford and Marvin Williams have missed extended time because of injuries which also may be a reason for the unexpected losing. During the hawks extended streak of futility the Orlando magic have risen to the ranks of the basketball elite having the second best home record only behind the perfect Cleveland cavaliers. The hawks who were once in the thick of the southeast race now find themselves 9 games back. If the hawks want to get the unbridled support from the fan base they have to play better or at least show they are giving max effort because 26 points in a half just won’t cut it.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://asseenthruglass.blogspot.com/2009/01/hello-is-any-one-in-there-question-to.html' title='Hello, is any one in there? Never mind the distraction of going into one of your toughest stretches of PAC 10 play your and head coach is all the way in Washington and just forget about the fact that you as a team lost your first 5 of 6 including losses to Yale and Howard. all that matters is that right now you are winning

In the last couple of games the beavers beat USC, CAL, and Stanford completing the bay area sweep a feat that had not been done by Oregon state since the year i was born (1992) last year the beavers where the Epitome of weak conference opponent giving a win to every PAC 10 team they played. after looking likely to do the same because of a twenty point loss to UCLA the Oregon state beavers did something completely uncharacteristic they won a close overtime time game against a legitimate tournament team in Southern Cal, but then follow that up by 4 devastating defeat at the hands of more Pac 10 teams these losses though were before January 20th when coach Robinson came back from witnessing his brother in law become America’s first black commander in chief its like a plan came back with him a plan to win. Let’s see if they turn this momentum into a beat down of Oregon in their annual civil war match up and maybe something more or ride back into the wave of insignificance. The ruin of a many teams is that they feel after becoming number one they have reached the pinnacle goal for the season and lose focus for what the greater goal for year is (championship).

Another reason why rankings really do not matter until at least mid February when the teams have had the opportunity to play the bulk of their in conference schedule. you never know when a team will go 16-0 in the non conference and totally bomb out in the conference and not make the tourney; which is a perfect segue to my second point; The Clemson tigers

I don't know weather its weak non-conference scheduling or just fear of the powerful ACC but every freaking year the Clemson tiger seem to get off to a monstrous start then assume the position for the rest of the year sometimes in between managing to pull out enough games to squeak into the tournament just to get up ended in the first or second round. I would love to have some sort of comparison for Clemson to another team pro or otherwise but the fact is there is no other team that does this, their inconsistency stands alone in the sports ranks.

Oh yeah and big ups to Virginia Tech and North Carolina for handling their business.

Jodie Freaking Meeks!!!

Last night a travesty took place the vaunted tennessee mens basketball defense was no where to be found but who was there and showed up ready to play was Jodie Freaking Meeks (new man law: Whenever we refer to Mr. Meeks by his whole name "Freaking" has to be included) The 6'4" junior put the shoot in shooting guard and put on as pat ford described a show for the ages. 54 points in college ball that shouldn't even be plausible for as great a scorer that kevin durrant was and stephen curry is, no one walks in the gym and says yep this is the night that were gonna see 54 points get scored actually it is more logical to predict 54 from a team for an entire game (a team not named North Carolina). As a three point specialist Meeks rewrote the single game three points kentucky record books nailing 10. The 54 was one point more than Dan Issel who in 1970 dropped 53 against then dormat ole miss. this performance just highlights the season Meeks is having especially recently with their only lost coming against a highly ranked louisville team. So lets together take a hard look at our ballots for player of the year and write the name Jodie Freaking Meeks!!!

NFC Title Game

Right now i am sitting in class and daydreaming its hard to focus on algebra when then NFL playoffs are so interesting. Last week no one gave the arizona cardinals a shot to win against carolina and admittantly i was one of those ney-sayers. I mean all yall they were a one demensional offense with a soft defense and a sub-par special teams unit. All of a sudden the playoffs come and they turn on the super team switch. It first appeared as a fluke when they handled my falcons in round one but the complete and utter dismantaling of carolina proved they are forreal the philly eagles though are feeling just as high after back to back wins against the no-longer defending champion Giants. With westbrook healthy and Mcnabb back to his cocky dispositon the NFC Championship will be fun to watch.
